• GOT7's BamBam Reveals He Almost Retired: "I Didn't Want to Wake Up"

GOT7's BamBam recently opened up about a tough time in his life. On the 9th, he appeared in a video on the YouTube channel 'JibDaeseong,' where he talked about nearly quitting the music industry.

BamBam shared, "After leaving JYP, I seriously thought about retiring. I had been working hard for seven years, but I wasn't getting the recognition I wanted in Korea. I thought maybe it was time to move back to Thailand and live with my mom."

He added, "But then Abyss, my current agency, kept reaching out. Unlike other companies that wanted me to focus on Southeast Asia, Abyss asked if I wanted to be recognized in Korea. So, I decided to give it one last shot. During a break, I got the chance to be on 'Transit Love 2.' At first, I thought, 'Why would I join a dating show?' But it ended up changing my life. I'm really glad I didn't retire."

Looking back, BamBam admitted, "I was in a mindset of giving up, so I just said whatever I was thinking. I didn't expect so many people to relate to it. I guess it shows that sometimes it's better not to overthink."

In July, BamBam posted on social media, "I don't want to wake up after falling asleep. That's the only way I can rest." This message, shared right before his August comeback, worried a lot of fans.

He later deleted the post and explained, "I've been pushing myself hard since last year, and there's still a lot to do. I've been dealing with stress and haven't been feeling well physically, which made me emotional." He assured fans, "I'll keep doing my best this year, but I'll also make time to rest. I'm sorry if I caused any concern."

BamBam released his new album 'BAMESIS' in August and is currently promoting it.

  • Park Bo Gum honors Suzy’s 10th Baeksang anniversary with flowers and fans are loving it

Suzy just hit a major milestone — and Park Bo Gum made sure it didn’t go unnoticed.

On May 5, the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards was held at COEX D Hall in Gangnam, Seoul, with Shin Dong Yup, Suzy, and Park Bo Gum returning as the MC trio once again. But this year wasn’t just any regular hosting gig — it marked Suzy’s 10th anniversary as the show’s MC.

Shin Dong Yup kicked off the ceremony by introducing this year’s theme, “Toward, Voyage”, and jokingly said, “We probably can’t be MCs for another 10, 20, or 30 years, but wouldn’t it be nice if we could sail all the way to the 91st Baeksang?”

Suzy added with a smile, “I’m sailing toward the hearts of all the audience members.”

But the sweetest moment came when Park Bo Gum turned to Suzy and said, “Today marks our 10th year together”, before pulling out a beautiful bouquet of flowers to celebrate her 10th year as host. The crowd loved it, and so did Suzy.

Shin Dong Yup then asked Suzy if she remembered her very first time on the Baeksang stage. She said, “Of course I do. I was really nervous because it was my first time, but I was also so happy and excited to be chosen as an MC. Now, 10 years have gone by… and it still feels special, like the first time.”

The warm memories didn’t stop there. Suzy asked Shin Dong Yup about his own first experience, and he shared, “I remember receiving an award here over 30 years ago. I think I’ve been an MC for about 15 or 16 years now.”

He added, “I might’ve looked calm on the outside, but inside, I was always nervous and trembling. But maybe that mix of nerves and excitement is what helped me keep doing this with all of you.”

The 61st Baeksang turned into a night of celebration, not just for the stars being honored — but also for the ones who’ve been guiding the stage for years.

And thanks to Park Bo Gum’s thoughtful gesture, Suzy’s 10th year felt more like a fairytale than a job.
