• BTS's Suga Apologizes for Drinking and Riding an E-Scooter During Military Service

BTS member Suga has personally apologized after being caught drinking and riding an e-scooter.

On the 7th, Big Hit Music announced through the BTS fan community that "Suga was using an e-scooter while wearing a helmet on the night of the 6th. After traveling approximately 500 meters, he fell while parking. The police, who were nearby, conducted a breathalyzer test, resulting in a fine and license suspension."

They added, "No personal injuries or property damage occurred from this incident, and he returned home under police supervision."

Big Hit Music also stated, "We apologize for the disappointment caused by the artist's inappropriate behavior. Suga will receive appropriate disciplinary action from his workplace for this misconduct during his social service."

On the same day, Suga acknowledged the incident and apologized through the community.

Suga said, "I am very heavy-hearted and sorry to be bringing you disappointing news. After drinking at a meal last night, I used an e-scooter to return home. I did not realize that using an e-scooter while intoxicated was against the law and failed to follow traffic regulations due to my careless thought that it was a short distance."

He continued, "Although there were no injuries or damaged facilities during this process, I take full responsibility and deeply apologize to everyone. I apologize to all those affected by my careless and wrongful actions and will be more cautious in the future to prevent such incidents."

Suga debuted as a member of BTS in 2013. He entered the Nonsan Training Center in March and is currently serving as a social service worker.

The specific reason for his assignment as a social service worker has not been disclosed, though it is speculated to be related to shoulder surgery he underwent in 2020. Suga is scheduled to be discharged in June next year.
