BTS’s Jungkook Nominated for MTV VMAs for 3 Years in a Row

BTS’s Jungkook is making waves again by getting MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMA) nominations for the third year in a row.

On August 6 (local time), the MTV VMAs announced their 2024 nominees. Jungkook scored nods in two categories: ‘Best Collaboration’ and ‘Best K-Pop’ for his song “Seven (feat. Latto).”

Jungkook is up against big names like Taylor Swift, Post Malone, and Drake in the ‘Best Collaboration’ category, highlighting his status as a major global star.

He was first nominated in 2022 for ‘Song of Summer’ with his collaboration with Charlie Puth, “Left and Right (Feat. Jung Kook of BTS).” Last year, “Seven (feat. Latto)” won ‘Song of Summer,’ making Jungkook the first Korean solo artist to win that award.

The 2024 MTV VMAs will take place on September 10 at the UBS Arena in New York.

Released in July last year, Jungkook’s solo single “Seven (feat. Latto)” quickly became a global hit.

The song topped the Billboard Hot 100, reached number 3 on the UK Official Singles Chart, and was the fastest to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify.

“Seven (feat. Latto)” also topped Billboard’s ‘International Power Players’ list in April, showing its global success across more than 200 countries/regions, excluding the US.
