• Yoo Ah In Accused of Sexually Assaulting a Younger Man, Police Look into Drug Use

    Actor Yoo Ah In (38), also known as Uhm Hong-sik, has been accused of sexually assaulting a man in his 30s.

    On the morning of the 26th, Chosun Ilbo reported that the Seoul Yongsan Police Station charged Yoo Ah In on the 25th.

    Yoo Ah In allegedly assaulted Mr. A (30) at an officetel in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on the 14th. Same-sex assault is considered quasi-rape under current law.

    Mr. A realized the assault when he woke up and reported it the next day. The incident happened at a third party's place, not belonging to Yoo Ah In or Mr. A, and other men were also present.

    Police are also checking if Yoo Ah In, who is on trial for regular drug use, was under the influence during the assault.

    On the 24th, a hearing for Yoo Ah In's drug charges was held at the Seoul Central District Court’s Criminal Division 25. He is accused of using drugs like propofol 181 times from September 2020 to March 2022.

    Prosecutors asked for a four-year prison sentence, a 2 million KRW fine, and a forfeiture of 1.54 million KRW.

    Yoo Ah In’s team said he has long suffered from mental illnesses like depression and anxiety.

U.S. and 97th on Billboard Global 200 as of February 1.
