BTS's Jungkook has made history with his debut solo album GOLDEN, becoming the first K-pop solo artist to earn 'Gold' certification in France.
The French Recording Association (SNEP) recently announced that GOLDEN has been awarded 'Gold' certification after selling 50,000 units in France. The association, established in 1922, recognizes albums and singles based on sales.
The World Music Awards (WMA), known as the 'Billboard of Europe,' highlighted that GOLDEN is the first K-pop solo artist album to reach this milestone in France.

Earlier this year, Jungkook also received 'Gold' certification for his solo single Seven. With GOLDEN, he now has two 'Gold' certifications to his name.
In addition, GOLDEN topped the French Recording Association's Top Albums Chart as of November 10, 2023.
Jungkook also earned 'Gold Album' certification from Music Canada for GOLDEN in 2024.
The album has sold over 900,000 units in the U.S., setting a new record for the fastest sales by an Asian solo artist album in the world's largest music market. All tracks from GOLDEN have individually sold over 100,000 units in the U.S.
