iKON's Song Yunhyeong is set to enlist in the army as an active-duty soldier. According to his agency, 143 Entertainment, Song Yunhyeong will begin his military service on August 13. The agency shared, "We ask for a lot of support and encouragement for Song Yunhyeong, who will return after diligently fulfilling his national defense duties."
For safety reasons, there won't be any official event on the day of his enlistment. The agency explained, "We ask for your understanding as the enlistment will be conducted privately to prevent any safety accidents due to on-site congestion. We will do our best to ensure that Song Yunhyeong can spend time with iKONIC (iKON's fandom) before his enlistment."
Song Yunhyeong will be the fourth member of iKON to fulfill his military duties, following Kim Jinhwan, Jung Chanwoo, and Bobby. Kim Jinhwan, who is serving as a social service worker, started his alternative service in July last year. Jung Chanwoo enlisted as an active-duty soldier this past May. Bobby, who got married in 2021 and has a son, has been serving as a reservist since June.
Fans are encouraged to send their love and support to Song Yunhyeong as he prepares for this important chapter in his life.
