• iKON's Song Yunhyeong to Enlist as Active-Duty Soldier on August

    iKON's Song Yunhyeong is set to enlist in the army as an active-duty soldier. According to his agency, 143 Entertainment, Song Yunhyeong will begin his military service on August 13. The agency shared, "We ask for a lot of support and encouragement for Song Yunhyeong, who will return after diligently fulfilling his national defense duties."

    For safety reasons, there won't be any official event on the day of his enlistment. The agency explained, "We ask for your understanding as the enlistment will be conducted privately to prevent any safety accidents due to on-site congestion. We will do our best to ensure that Song Yunhyeong can spend time with iKONIC (iKON's fandom) before his enlistment."

    Song Yunhyeong will be the fourth member of iKON to fulfill his military duties, following Kim Jinhwan, Jung Chanwoo, and Bobby. Kim Jinhwan, who is serving as a social service worker, started his alternative service in July last year. Jung Chanwoo enlisted as an active-duty soldier this past May. Bobby, who got married in 2021 and has a son, has been serving as a reservist since June.

    Jisoo laughed and admitted, “Actually, I was really chubby back then. They kept telling me to lose weight, but I always said, ‘No, I need to eat. I like myself chubby.’”

    She even recalled a moment with YG Entertainment’s founder, Yang Hyun Suk:
    “The boss told me to lose weight, and I responded like that. He just walked away, thinking, ‘She’s a weird one.’ I literally said, ‘No! I like myself chubby!’”

    Jisoo then revealed that after she debuted, she naturally lost weight. She added, “Later, after I debuted and naturally lost weight, he was like, ‘You didn’t lose weight when I told you to, but now that you debuted, you did.’”
