• NewJeans' Hanni Boosts Streams of 'Blue Coral Reef' by 530%, Proving Her Huge Impact

    NewJeans member Hanni has shown her huge influence on Spotify with a recent cover performance at Tokyo Dome.

    On July 22, Spotify revealed that streams for Matsuda Seiko's ‘Aoi San-Show’ (Blue Coral Reef) soared by about 530% after Hanni’s cover at Tokyo Dome.

    NewJeans held their ‘Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome’ fan meeting on June 26 and 27. During the event, Hani’s cover of Matsuda Seiko’s ‘Blue Coral Reef’ caught a lot of attention, causing a major spike in streams of the original song on Spotify.

    The 1980 hit by Japanese artist Matsuda Seiko saw a remarkable 530% increase in streams in the week following Hanni's performance.

    Currently, NewJeans has around 17.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify and has racked up billions of streams. Over the past month, Tokyo, Jakarta, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Taipei had the most streams of NewJeans’ music, while the top countries were the United States, Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Brazil.

    Spotify is also celebrating NewJeans' second anniversary with a global campaign. They’ve added special audio messages from the members to the ‘This is NewJeans’ playlist and are offering share card images for fans who have streamed their music the most, so they can show off their achievements on social media.

    BTS member Jin is taking the world by storm with his hit song Running Wild.

    Released on November 15, Running Wild is the title track from Jin's first solo album, Happy. The song blends a fresh new wave sound with British rock influences and pop rock elements, catching the attention of fans worldwide.

    On November 21, Running Wild reached the top spot on Spotify Japan's Daily Top Songs chart, showing its massive popularity.

    It also ranked No. 2 on the Spotify Top Songs chart in Korea and No. 6 globally, proving its broad appeal.

    Jin’s solo album Happy has also been a huge success. It sold over 219,000 copies on its first day, making it the third-highest album sales for a K-pop solo artist in Oricon Weekly Album Chart history.

    In just three days, Happy reached No. 1 on the Hanteo Country-by-Country Chart in Japan for the third week of November, solidifying Jin's status as a top global artist.
