• BTS's Jungkook Breaks Record with 'Seven' as the Only Asian Solo Artist in Spotify Global Top 50 for 300 Days

BTS's Jungkook is making waves with his hit song "Seven," setting a new record in the music world. His solo single "Seven" has achieved a remarkable milestone by staying in Spotify's Global Top 50 for an impressive 300 days.

According to the World Music Awards (WMA), known as the "Billboard of Europe," Jungkook is the first and only Asian solo artist to reach this achievement.

Released in July last year, "Seven" debuted at number one on Spotify's daily global chart and held the top spot for a record 71 days, the longest for an Asian artist. As of July 17, the song has been on Spotify's daily global chart for a total of 370 days.

On Spotify's weekly global chart, "Seven" topped the chart for nine weeks, the longest for a male artist's song in 2023. The song has also consistently ranked on Spotify's weekly global chart for 53 weeks in a row.

"Seven" has broken several Spotify records, including being the fastest song to reach 100 million, 900 million, 1 billion, and 1.1 billion streams. It also became the fastest song by an Asian artist to surpass 1.75 billion streams and the first K-pop solo song to achieve this.

The song ranked fourth on Spotify's year-end chart for "Top Tracks of 2023" with only four months of data. In the United States, "Seven" sold over 2 million units, earning a Double Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

In Japan, "Seven" surpassed 100 million cumulative streams, earning a Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). It also received a Gold certification in France for 15 million streams and in Canada for 80,000 units (Platinum Single) and 40,000 units (Gold Single), with Double Platinum Single certification (160,000 units) expected for 2024.

"Seven" debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed on the chart for 15 weeks. It held the number one spot on Billboard Global (excluding the US) for nine consecutive weeks and on Billboard Global 200 for seven consecutive weeks. As of July 20, it has been on both charts for 52 weeks in a row.

Last year, "Seven" was named the "Global Song of the Summer for 2023" by Billboard, and this year, it was chosen as the most popular song in over 200 countries (excluding the US) for the "2024 International Power Players."

On the UK Official Chart's Top 100, "Seven" entered at number three and has maintained a K-pop solo artist record of 14 weeks on the chart.

Jungkook has set four world records, including the fastest to 1 billion streams on Spotify (before filtering), the highest number of weekly streams by a male artist (89,748,171 after filtering), the fastest to 100 million streams (after filtering), and the K-pop solo artist with the most number-one hits on the IFPI's MENA chart. These achievements have been officially recognized by Guinness World Records.

Jungkook’s Spotify profile has surpassed 6.4 billion streams (before filtering), making him the fastest K-pop artist and the first K-pop solo artist to reach this milestone.

  • Lee Min Ho Shares the Hilarious Story Behind His Famous Baeksang Fall—The One Thing He’ll Never Forget!

Actor Lee Min Ho recently shared an unforgettable and embarrassing moment from his early career, revealing how he became a “falling star” at his first Baeksang Arts Awards.

On the December 25th episode of You Quiz on the Block (Episode 274), Lee Min Ho made a guest appearance and reflected on his rise to fame.

The actor, known for his iconic role as Goo Jun Pyo in Boys Over Flowers, won the Best New Actor award at the Baeksang Arts Awards, but it wasn’t just his victory that grabbed attention.

Lee Min Ho recalled, "I was attending the Baeksang for the first time, and I was so excited. Since I wasn’t going as Goo Jun Pyo, but as Lee Min Ho, I styled my hair in a perm and was ready to go." However, things took an unexpected turn when he tripped and fell on the red carpet.

He sighed, recalling, "That day, I fell. I fell and created so many memes. Even now, I look back and think, 'How did I walk that quickly on the red carpet?'"

Laughing at his own clumsiness, he admitted, "I was moving at the speed of light, no composure, no focus. Honestly, more than the joy of winning the award, that day was chaotic and so embarrassing for me."

Though his win was a highlight, Lee Min Ho humorously shared that the incident of tripping overshadowed the excitement of his achievement.

It’s safe to say that while the fall became a funny meme, it also became a lesson in humility for the actor, and a moment that fans still remember to this day.
