TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) has shot to the top of the Oricon chart with their new Japanese single 'CHIKAI'.
On July 3rd, Oricon announced that TXT's single 'CHIKAI' sold 300,982 copies on its first day, landing them the number one spot on the 'Daily Single Ranking.' This broke their previous record of 279,807 copies for their 2022 single 'GOOD BOY GONE BAD'.
The title track, 'We'll Never Change,' has been praised for its touching lyrics and sweet melody. Fans are saying things like, "It captures the overwhelming feeling of youth," and "Youth is TOMORROW X TOGETHER." The music video for 'We'll Never Change' quickly climbed the Line Music real-time music video chart, reaching number one just four hours after its release.
Another track, 'Kitto Zutto,' produced by Huening Kai, has also gained a lot of attention, trending third on X (formerly Twitter). On YouTube Music, it's getting a lot of playtime similar to the title track.
TXT performed 'We'll Never Change' for the first time on Fuji TV's '2024 FNS Summer Song Festival' on July 3rd. The members wowed viewers with their stunning visuals and beautiful choreography using ribbons.
After their first music show performance with the new single, TXT is ramping up their promotions in Japan. They will be on NTV's 'THE MUSIC DAY 2024' on July 6th, TBS's 'Ongaku no Hi 2024' on July 13th, and Fuji TV's outdoor concert 'Mezamashi Live' on August 12th.
