EXO’s Chen Warms Hearts with Emotional Performance on ‘Begin Again’

EXO member and solo artist Chen has welcomed the summer with his heartfelt vocals.

On the 24th, Chen appeared on the ‘Begin Again’ YouTube channel, followed by his performance on JTBC’s ‘Begin Again Open Mic’ broadcast at 12:10 AM on the 26th.

‘Begin Again Open Mic’ showcases musicians’ music and stories in everyday settings like old neighborhoods, alley corners with worn footsteps, and rugged workplaces.

The busking event took place at Incheon 1883 Open Square, featuring top vocalists from Korea, including Chen, Jung In, Ben, and Lim Hanbyul.

As the youngest in the lineup, Chen performed a new acoustic version of the title track ‘Empty’ from his recent album ‘DOOR.’

‘Empty’ is an emotive ballad that explores feelings of loneliness and emptiness, resonating deeply with Chen‘s sweet and distinctive vocals. Fans from countries like Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Philippines, and Pakistan found solace in Chen‘s music, enjoying their ‘ear-healing time.’

Reflecting on his performance, Chen humbly shared, “I was quite nervous because it was my first time.” He also revealed a personal connection to ‘Empty,’ mentioning his involvement in writing and composing the song.

Chen‘s album ‘DOOR,’ released last month on the 28th, immediately topped the iTunes Worldwide Album Chart on its debut day.

It also achieved number one spots on iTunes charts in 26 countries, including Brazil, Chile, Indonesia, Mexico, Nigeria, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Spain, and Saudi Arabia, showcasing his enduring popularity. Chen looks forward to engaging further with fans through various upcoming activities.
