• BTS's J-Hope, Jang Yoon Jeong & Do Kyung Wan Splurge on Penthouses at High-end Villa in Yongsan

    BTS member J-Hope, celebrity couple Jang Yoon Jeong and Do Kyung Wan, actor Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun, Han Hyo Joo, Soo Ae, and others have recently invested in luxurious penthouses at Aper Han River in Seobinggo-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

    According to a TenAsia report on the 20th, these prominent figures have acquired residences at Aper Han River, known for its exclusive location and premium amenities.

    J-Hope secured a 273.86 square meter duplex penthouse at Aper Han River with full cash payment. This purchase follows his previous acquisitions at Trimage in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, where he owns two luxury apartments.

    Having enlisted in the army in April last year, J-Hope is currently serving as an instructor and is set to be discharged on October 17th. Recently, he warmly welcomed BTS member Jin back after completing his military service.

    Jang Yoon Jeong and Do Kyung Wan, after selling their Nine One Hannam apartment, also moved into a penthouse at Aper Han River. Their spacious duplex penthouse, spanning 273.98 square meters, was purchased entirely with cash from the proceeds of their previous sale.

    Other notable buyers include Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun, Han Hyo Joo, Soo Ae, the Ryu Deok Hwan and Jeon Soo Rin couple, and football player Kim Ki Hee. Gong Yoo opted for a 240.70 square meter unit, while Kim Go Eun, Han Hyo Joo, and the Ryu Deok Hwan couple chose units of 241.32 square meters each. Soo Ae purchased a 246.18 square meter unit, and Kim Ki-hee invested in a 226.87 square meter unit, all bought outright.

    Aper Han River, designed by renowned architect Yoo Hyun-jun, offers units ranging from 205.84 to 273.94 square meters across its 26 floors, emphasizing luxury and comfort. Situated by the Han River and adjacent to Yongsan Park, residents enjoy breathtaking views and exclusive amenities like limousine service and concierge assistance.

    The property's resale prices currently range between 9 to 10 billion won for standard units, reflecting its status as a premier residential destination in Seoul.

    On February 4, the movie JSA was celebrated as a "Visionary" work at a special GV (Guest Visit) event for CJ ENM’s 30th anniversary at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul. The event was attended by director Park Chan-wook and stars like Song Kang Ho, Lee Byung Hun, Lee Young Ae, Kim Tae Woo, and Ko Kyung Beom, who shared stories from the making of the film.

    Joint Security Area, a groundbreaking film by director Park Chan-wook, tells the story of North and South Korean soldiers caught in a tragic incident at the border, highlighting the human side of the divided nations. The film has been widely praised for changing the perception of inter-Korean relations and is seen as a key moment in Korean cinema.

    During the event, Song Kang Ho admitted that he turned down the JSA script at first, saying, "The script was just too perfect. It was so well-written and tightly woven that I couldn’t believe it. I thought, ‘Is this really Korean cinema at this level?’ I felt it was too good, and I figured the movie wouldn’t live up to the script."

    He also mentioned that at the time, Park Chan-wook’s previous films hadn’t done well, which made him even more doubtful. "But after meeting the director, I started to trust him," Song Kang Ho added.

    Reflecting on the film 20 years later, Song Kang Ho joked, "I was flipping through channels and watched JSA again. I thought, ‘There was a time when I wasn’t envious of Lee Byung Hun,’ but he looked so handsome and cool back then." He continued, laughing, "One thing about Park Chan-wook's films is that they have a depth and elegance that you just can’t forget. It’s probably why his new movie is called I Can’t Help It."

    Song Kang Ho also spoke fondly of reuniting with his JSA co-stars after 25 years. He shared, "We didn’t watch the film together, but we had a cozy two-hour dinner. After all this time, it felt nostalgic. It was heartwarming to sit together again and reminisce about the past. It really made me realize how meaningful these moments are."
