Son Seok Koo's latest movie 'Night Fishing' has made waves among audiences.
As of 8 a.m. on June 14th, 'Night Fishing' has exceeded 14,800 advance ticket sales, according to real-time bookings from the integrated cinema network.
Despite its brief six-day run at CGV, scheduled from June 14th to 16th and June 21st to 23rd, the film has garnered impressive ticket sales figures.
Especially on its opening day, CGV theaters across Seoul, including Gangnam, Daehangno, Sangbong, Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo, Wangsimni, and Yongsan I'Park Mall, were nearly sold out, with late-night screenings being the only exceptions.
Furthermore, the movie achieved an outstanding pre-sale seat occupancy rate of over 80% across 15 theaters and 55 screenings on its debut day alone.
'Night Fishing' adopts an innovative "snack movie" concept, offering audiences a short and captivating film experience for just one thousand won, which is approximately one dollar. This daring release strategy is expected to set a new trend in the cinema industry.
A distribution official from CGV commented on the success, stating, "Despite the brief six-day screening period, surpassing 10,000 advance ticket sales and ranking 5th in CGV's booking charts is highly encouraging. We look forward to receiving positive feedback from audiences following the film's release and applaud this innovative initiative."
'Night Fishing' is a humanistic thriller that unfolds mysterious events at a dark night electric vehicle charging station, currently drawing enthusiastic audiences.
