  • Barbie Hsu’s Family Fights Back Against Crazy Fake News—Her Sister Says, ‘Why Do These Lies Keep Spreading?’

Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu has become the center of fake news even after her passing, and her younger sister Dee Hsu is not holding back against the false rumors.

On February 6, Taiwanese media reported that Barbie Hsu’s husband, DJ Koo Jun Yup, along with her family, returned to Taiwan from Japan on a private VistaJet flight.

While many expected them to arrive on February 6 carrying Hsu’s ashes, they actually returned a day earlier, on February 5, to avoid media attention.

However, shocking rumors started circulating on Weibo and other Chinese social media platforms, claiming that Hsu’s ex-husband, Wang Xiaofei, arranged the private jet and even covered the costs, allegedly spending around 400,000 yuan to transport her ashes with dignity. The reports suggested that Wang insisted her remains be treated with care instead of being sent as mere cargo.

Dee Hsu didn’t stay silent. Through her agency, she strongly denied these false claims, stating, "Our family handled all the funeral arrangements, including the private jet. I don’t understand why such rumors are spreading. The heavens see everything. My sister is watching from above—why do these rumors keep coming up?"

Things became even more controversial when it was discovered that the source of these rumors was allegedly linked to Wang Xiaofei’s family. This has fueled speculation that someone may be trying to rewrite the narrative about Barbie Hsu’s passing.

Barbie Hsu passed away suddenly on February 2 while traveling in Japan due to acute pneumonia at the age of 48. In accordance with Japanese laws, she was cremated locally, and her ashes were brought back to Taiwan on February 5 by DJ Koo Jun Yup. Her remains were taken straight to her home.

No funeral will be held in Taiwan, as her ashes will stay at her residence. Dee Hsu explained, "My sister has returned home safely. I believe she is now happy and at peace in heaven. She was a humble person, so there will be no farewell ceremony. If you miss her, please remember her in your heart."

With Barbie Hsu’s family shutting down the false rumors, many hope that she can finally rest in peace.
