“The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” Struggles in Viewership Rating Despite Jung Ryeo Won and Wi Ha Joon Steamy Night

In the TVN weekend drama ‘The Midnight Romance in Hagwon,’ the undercover love story between Jung Ryeo Won and Wi Ha Joon is getting hotter.

In the latest episode aired on the 8th, we saw Seo Hye Jin (played by Jung Ryeo Won) and Lee Joon Ho (played by Wi Ha Joon) getting cozy both inside and outside the academy.

The episode scored a 3.2% viewership (for paid households) according to Nielsen Korea, dipping by 0.9% from the previous episode’s 4.3%.

As the relationship between Seo Hye Jin and Lee Joon Ho blossomed, they hit a snag. Seo Hye Jin found Lee Joon Ho’s pal, Choi Seung Kyu (played by Shin Joo Hyub), waiting at his place. Lee Joon Ho, feeling indebted for the help with moving, dashed off with a promise to return soon.

Alone at home, Seo Hye Jin was also busy, prepping the house and bed for a romantic night she envisioned with Lee Joon Ho. And guess what? Her dreams came true when Lee Joon Ho professed his love, saying, “I love Seo Hye Jin. I’ve loved you for much longer than I thought.” Their deeper kiss sealed the deal, making their night cozy. The next morning, they woke up beaming with joy, embracing each other anew.

On the day of the final exams, Seo Hye Jin and Lee Joon Ho were thrilled with the students’ mock exam results. Everyone aced the multiple-choice questions. But then, Lee Shi Woo (played by Cha Kang Yoon) popped up. Though Seo Hye Jin and Lee Joon Ho had been tutoring him in Korean, he still struggled with some tricky bits.

Meanwhile, Daechi-dong was undergoing changes. Hyeong Seop (played by Kim Song Il), a Korean teacher at Chan Young High School, agreed to be the deputy head of the Best Korean Department. Initially hesitant about using only textbook questions for the final exam, he agreed to Choi Hyeong Seon’s (played by Seo Jung Yeon) proposal in the dead of night. As the deputy head, he met Seo Hye Jin in a new light.

That day, Seo Hye Jin and Lee Joon Ho’s undercover romance sparked excitement. From their secret elevator meet-ups to tender kisses in the classroom and inside jokes, they made each other’s days thrilling.

Unexpectedly, Nam Cheong Mi (played by So Joo Yeon) stumbled upon an interesting connection. After a drink with Choi Seung Kyu, a grad student skeptical about ‘studies,’ she boldly retorted, “Why do you say that? It’s pathetic,” to his harsh words. His fiery reaction hinted at the start of a intriguing relationship, leaving Choi Seung Kyu tossing and turning at night.
