BTS’s Jungkook’s “Never Let Go” Dominates iTunes Charts in 98 Countries

BTS member Jungkook’s self-composed song, “Never Let Go,” has taken the global music scene by storm.

Released on the 7th, the digital single quickly climbed to the top of the iTunes Top Songs charts in an impressive 98 countries, including the United States, Japan, France, and Germany, by 6 a.m. on the 8th.

Notably, this achievement makes it the fastest record among songs released in 2024.

Never Let Go” isn’t stopping there—it’s also ruling both the worldwide and European iTunes Song charts. Within just 2 hours and 17 minutes of its release, the song topped the charts in 70 countries.

Within 5 hours, it conquered 80 countries, and within 8 hours, an astounding 90 countries. Clearly, its global music power and popularity are unmatched.

In the U.S., “Never Let Go” wasted no time, securing a spot in the top 5 on the iTunes Top Songs chart within a mere 48 minutes of release—a record-breaking feat for 2024 releases.

But that’s not all. The song also dominated sales charts in other regions. In China, it claimed the top spot on QQ Music’s daily and weekly charts.

Meanwhile, in Japan, it ruled Mora’s (mu-mo) real-time chart for foreign singles. And back home in Korea, “Never Let Go” made its debut on Melon’s TOP 100 chart at 21st place, HOT 100 at 10th place, Bugs real-time chart at 7th place, and Genie real-time chart at 65th place.

Musically, “Never Let Go” features a house rhythm, captivating listeners with Jungkook’s refreshing voice, layered harmonies, and a catchy yet minimal synthesizer arrangement.

As a fan song, it expresses Jungkook’s heartfelt feelings for ARMY (the fandom name). Notably, Jungkook has previously released self-composed fan songs like “Still With You” in 2020 and “My You” in 2022.
