• Yoo Jae Suk shares the reason why he dropped out of college, “The professor warned me, but I ignored it”

Yoo Jae Suk opened up about why he left college before graduating.

In the June 1st episode of MBC's variety show 'Hangout with Yoo?', the final lineup for the 'Our Festival' on June 13th was being finalized.

During the episode, Yoo Jae Suk visited Lim Won Hee's house. Lim Won Hee mentioned that there aren't many people from Suyu-dong and revealed that they went to the same middle school and both attended the Seoul Institute of the Arts.

Lim Won Hee, who retook his high school exams and got into the Seoul Institute of the Arts in 1990, said, “I went straight to college but had to retake my high school exams because I didn't do well. I failed all the combined entrance exams. There were many schools offering night classes, but I even failed those,” making Yoo Jae Suk feel serious.

Lim Won Hee then teased Yoo Jae Suk, saying, “You enrolled in Seoul Institute of the Arts but didn’t graduate, did you? I tend to be picky about that.” He also shared that besides Yoo Jae Suk, Shin Dong Yup also didn't graduate.

Yoo Jae Suk, who was in the class of 1991, explained, “I enrolled in May and soon after, I wanted to be a comedian. When I told my professor I wanted to join the college comedy competition, he advised, ‘If you take the exam now, it will be hard to graduate. How about staying in school a bit longer and then going for your dream?’ But I didn’t listen,” revealing the reason for his dropout.

Lim Won Hee joked that Yoo Jae Suk, who was on TV at the time, seemed like someone who wouldn’t listen and asked, “What place did you get back then? Did you fail?”

This made Yoo Jae Suk flustered. Yoo Jae Suk replied, “Why would I fail? I won a consolation prize,” but Lim Won Hee kept teasing him by saying, “Oh, so you barely made it,” making everyone laugh.
