On May 29 KST, resale prices for tickets to Byeon Woo Seok’s fan meeting ranged from 200,000 won to a staggering 1.6 million won on a second-hand trading site.
The original price for tickets to the ‘Byun Woo Seok Asia Fan Meeting Tour Summer Letter’ was a modest 77,000 won for all seats.
Ticket reservations for the Seoul performance of Byeon Woo Seok’s fan meeting were held on May 27 KST. The overwhelming demand caused the server to crash, with up to 700,000 people waiting to secure tickets. Many fans were left disappointed as they couldn’t get tickets, leading to frustration.
Criticism has been directed at Byeon Woo Seok’s agency, with some arguing that the Jangchung Gymnasium, which seats approximately 4,500 people, is too small to accommodate his growing fan base.
Scalpers took advantage of the situation, offering tickets at inflated prices, some reaching as high as 5 million won on certain trading platforms.
Reports of scams and fraudulent transactions emerged, despite warnings to avoid purchasing tickets from blacklisted sellers.
Some buyers shared negative experiences to prevent others from falling victim to similar scams, urging caution when buying tickets from unofficial sources.
Interpark Ticket, the official reservation agency for Byun Woo Seok’s fan meeting, issued a statement condemning illegal activities such as direct transactions between individuals and ticket forgery.
They warned that reservations made through such means could be canceled without notice, with no possibility of refunds.
Attendees were reminded to verify performance information and ensure compliance with valid ID criteria to avoid inconvenience during the event.
Byeon Woo Seok’s fan meeting, scheduled for July 6 and 7 in Seoul, is part of a larger tour across various Asian cities, including Taiwan, Thailand, and Hong Kong.
Tickets for previous events, like the one in Taiwan, also sold out rapidly, reflecting the actor’s growing popularity in the region.
