• Yoo Ah In’s Battle with Severe Depression Revealed in Court Amid Drug Use Allegations

Actor Yoo Ah In is in the spotlight as his ongoing trial reveals his struggle with severe depression.

During the fifth trial session for Yoo Ah In, who’s facing charges for habitual drug use, a psychiatrist took the stand to testify that Yoo was prescribed narcotics due to severe depression symptoms.

The proceedings took place on May 14 at the Seoul Central District Court’s 25th Criminal Division, presided by Chief Judge Ji Gwi-yeon.

Yoo and his acquaintance, artist Choi (33), are currently under indictment under the Narcotics Control Law, including charges of marijuana smoking and incitement, as well as tampering with evidence.

Dr. Oh, the psychiatrist testifying as a witness, shared that Yoo had visited his office 46 times over four years, from June 29, 2021, to 2024.

He revealed, Yoo had difficulty sleeping, felt chronic depression, and experienced heart palpitations and discomfort when meeting people.”

Dr. Oh further detailed, Yoo talked about wanting to flee from filming sites and had thoughts about death. He expressed feelings of restlessness, anxiety, and lack of concentration, which I recorded in his chart.”

He also noted that unlike other celebrities who discuss drug prescriptions and sleep management, Yoo spent one to two hours in consultation expressing his depressive symptoms, which were of a severe nature.

Meanwhile, Yoo has denied allegations that he encouraged his acquaintance to use drugs. Speaking to reporters while attending court, Yoo refuted claims that he had recommended marijuana smoking to an acquaintance, stating, “It is not true.”

During the fourth trial last month, a well-known YouTuber and acquaintance of Yoo testified, “Yoo suggested that it was time for me to try smoking marijuana.” Yoo is also charged with administering propofol 180 times from 2020 to 2022 and illegally obtaining sleeping pills under another person’s name on approximately 40 occasions.

  • EXO's Xiumin blocked from performing on KBS’s ‘Music Bank’? His agency says the broadcast station won’t even respond

Xiumin’s agency, ONE HUNDRED, has spoken out about his unexpected exclusion from KBS 2TV’s Music Bank.

On March 4, the agency released an official statement, saying, “Xiumin, under INB100, is preparing for his solo comeback with Interview X on March 10, his first in two years and six months."

They added, "We have tried multiple times to reach out to KBS to secure a stage for him, but they have completely ignored us.”

The agency also revealed shocking details, stating, “Recently, KBS unofficially told us that Xiumin cannot appear on Music Bank or any programs where SM Entertainment artists are also performing.”

They continued, “We have repeatedly contacted KBS, asking them to put the artist and his fans first, but they won’t even respond.”

ONE HUNDRED strongly criticized the situation, saying, “As a public broadcast station, KBS should not be making decisions based on a specific company’s stance."

They added, "This is extremely unfair. We have done everything we can to resolve this, and we’re deeply disappointed to have to break this news to fans.”

Despite the setback, the agency reassured fans, promising, “Even if Xiumin can’t appear on KBS, we won’t give up. We’ll find even better opportunities for him to showcase his performances in front of fans.”

Meanwhile, Xiumin, who moved to INB100 (a subsidiary of ONE HUNDRED LABEL) in 2023, is set to release his second mini-album, Interview X, on March 10.

Fans are now waiting to see how this situation unfolds.
