• Son Seok Koo Teams Up Again with "My Liberation Notes" Director Kim Seok Yoon for New Drama

    Actor Son Seok Koo is making headlines as he’s currently in talks to join the cast of the upcoming drama “More Beautiful than Heaven” (working title), a new project by director Kim Seok Yoon.

    Son Seok Koo first teamed up with director Kim Seok-yoon in the 2022 drama “My Liberation Notes.” In this series, he played the enigmatic outsider Mr. Gu, earning rave reviews for his deep, soulful acting and romantic gaze, which quickly catapulted him to stardom.

    After his breakout role as Mr. Gu, Son Seok Koo’s star continued to rise, marking 2022 as “The Year of Son Seok Koo” with his role in the blockbuster movie “The Roundup,” which also hit the ten million viewer mark. Since then, Son has been keeping busy with various projects, including the dramas “Casino,” “D.P. 2,” “A killer paradox,” the play “Army on the Tree,” and the film “Comment Army.”

    Reuniting with the director who played a pivotal role in his career, Son Seok Koo is all set to create another memorable collaboration. Director Kim Seok Yoon’s project is still in the early stages, with the title and details under wraps as the production team and cast closely coordinate.

    The drama is generating buzz for bringing together actors who have previously shown great chemistry with director Kim, including Han Ji Min and Lee Jung Eun, who are also in talks to star. Both actors previously worked with Kim on the acclaimed dramas “The Light in Your Eyes” and “Hip.”

    BLACKPINK’s Jisoo shared a surprising story from her trainee days!

    On January 29, the latest episode of Dex’s Fridge Interview was released on YouTube. During the chat, Dex asked Jisoo if she ever rebelled or broke the rules as a trainee. She confidently replied, “Not at all. The only rebellion I had as a trainee was eating.”

    Dex then jokingly imitated her younger self, saying, “I’m perfect, so why are they telling me not to eat? I’m going to eat tteokbokki!”

    Jisoo laughed and admitted, “Actually, I was really chubby back then. They kept telling me to lose weight, but I always said, ‘No, I need to eat. I like myself chubby.’”

    She even recalled a moment with YG Entertainment’s founder, Yang Hyun Suk:
    “The boss told me to lose weight, and I responded like that. He just walked away, thinking, ‘She’s a weird one.’ I literally said, ‘No! I like myself chubby!’”

    Jisoo then revealed that after she debuted, she naturally lost weight. She added, “Later, after I debuted and naturally lost weight, he was like, ‘You didn’t lose weight when I told you to, but now that you debuted, you did.’”
