• From "Queen of Tears" Kim Soo Hyun to "Lovely Runner" Byeon Woo Seok — Are Dating Rumor a Must for Trending Stars?

Is it just part of the package when you’re a ‘trending’ star? Celebs are finding themselves in the middle of unexpected dating rumors sparked by the smallest coincidences.

Byeon Woo Seok, who’s currently riding high with his role in the tvN drama ‘Lovely Runner’, found himself linked to model Jeon Ji-soo on the 10th. Some eagle-eyed netizens pointed out that Byeon Woo Seokand Jeon Ji Soo were recently spotted wearing similar rings and posting pictures from the same location with similar compositions on SNS.

They even claimed that Byeon Woo Seok ‘followed’ Jeon Ji Soo and ‘liked’ her post.

But it turns out, it was all a misunderstanding. Byeon Woo Seok’s agency, Baro Entertainment, quickly denied the rumors, saying, Byeon Woo Seok and Jeon Ji Soo are just college friends.” It was also confirmed that Jeon Ji Soo is currently dating DJ A, not Byeon Woo Seok, putting an end to the rumor.

Byeon Woo Seok isn’t the only one. Several stars have found themselves caught up in scandals and have had to set the record straight.

Hweseo, a member of the girl group H1-Key, spoke up when a dating rumor with Na Camden, a member of the boy group Ampers&One, surfaced. She addressed the issue on the fan community on the 6th, saying, “I will talk because there is a question,” and clarified, “There is no relationship that can be misunderstood at all with Na Camden.”

Previously, the members of Ampers&One conducted a live broadcast, and Na Camden’s voice mentioning Hweseo’s real name, Hwehyun, and exchanging greetings sparked dating rumors.

In response, Hweseo explained, “I have never visited a hotel room, and I opened the door saying ‘Who is it?’ due to the knock sound of the front room that was misunderstood because the hotel is not soundproof, and it was the end of greeting because there were younger brothers who had practiced together,” and reassured fans, “You really don’t have to worry.”

Actor Kim Soo Hyun also found himself in an awkward situation when a picture of him bumping cheeks with Kim Sae Ron was leaked online. In March, Kim Sae Ron posted a picture taken with Kim Soo Hyun on her SNS and deleted it at the speed of light, sparking a ‘self’ dating rumor.

Then, Kim Soo Hyun ’s agency Gold Medalist said, “It’s groundless,” and denied the dating rumor with Kim Sae Ron, saying, “It seems to have been filmed when they were in the same agency in the past, and we have no idea about the intention of Kim Sae Ron’s behavior.”

It added, “Due to the picture, unnecessary misunderstandings and speculations about the actor are rampant, and we will strongly respond through a law firm, a legal representative, against malicious slander and insulting posts that damage the actor’s personality and honor.”

Kazuha, a member of the girl group LE SSERAFIM, also had to deal with a dating rumor raised by a Japanese media.

The famous Japanese weekly magazine Weekly Bunshun reported on the 3rd of last month that Kazuha and Kei, a member of the boy group &TEAM, had a date after finishing their schedule.

The media claimed that the two had been building a friendship for about a year and started dating around the summer of 2022. Also, they broke up last summer and reunited. However, Kazuha’s agency Source Music denied it, saying, “It’s not true.” Nevertheless, Weekly Bunshun raised the dating rumor again and fueled the suspicion, but the credibility has already fallen to the bottom due to the dating rumor mistake surrounding another member of LE SSERAFIM, Kim Chaewon. Kazuha’s dating rumor also ended as a happening.

  • IU melts hearts by helping young actress Kim Tae Yeon pick a dress for her first awards show and even goes shopping with her

IU has once again warmed hearts with her sweet and caring nature — this time by personally helping young actress Kim Tae Yeon get ready for her very first awards show.

The two actresses both played the same character, Ae Soon, in different stages of life in the Netflix drama "When Life Gives You Tangerines". IU played the adult version while Kim Tae Yeon touched viewers with her emotional performance as young Ae Soon.

Even though Kim Tae Yeon doesn’t have an agency yet, IU made sure the young star wouldn’t be alone. According to insiders, IU personally visited a dress shop with Kim Tae Yeon to help her pick out a beautiful outfit. She even helped with hair and makeup plans, making sure Tae Yeon could shine at the upcoming 61st Baeksang Arts Awards, where both actresses are nominated.

Kim Tae Yeon’s mom posted about the moment on Instagram, saying:

“Tae Yeon met IU unnie and told me to say thank you. Words aren’t enough to express how grateful we are. We were so surprised by her unexpected visit, and her thoughtful care truly touched our hearts. Thank you again to IU for the gift.”

The post also showed a happy Kim Tae Yeon holding IU’s present and choosing a dress — a moment that melted fans’ hearts.

IU is well-known in the industry for her generosity and kindness. While filming "You Have Done Well", she reportedly gave thoughtful gifts and created a warm, friendly vibe on set for everyone, from co-stars to staff.

The drama itself became a big hit, earning praise both in Korea and overseas. IU, Park Bo Gum, Yeom Hye Ran, Choi Dae Hoon, and Kim Tae Yeon all received Baeksang nominations — a huge achievement, especially for the young star.

Kim Tae Yeon, born in 2011, has been acting since she was little and appeared in dramas like Crash Landing on You, A Dog’s Love Today, and Gyeongseong Creature. But her powerful acting in "When Life Gives You Tangerines" truly made people cry, smile, and remember her name.

IU didn’t stop at helping Kim Tae Yeon. She also invited fellow cast members Moon So Ri, Park Hae Joon, Ahn Tae Rin, and more to her concert, sending them gifts to show her love and support.

In an earlier interview, IU talked about giving gifts to so many people. She humbly said,

“As I do more projects, there are more people I’m thankful for, but it’s not as hard as people think. I just hope the people receiving the gifts feel happy.”

Talking about the drama, she added,

“It was such a grand project. Just being part of it was a blessing. It made me think, ‘Ji Eun, you really experienced something amazing.’ I’m grateful I could work with such great people.”

Once again, IU has proved she’s not just a talented singer and actress — she’s also a true “Good Deed Queen.”
