Get ready, K-pop fans! BABYMONSTER is making waves in the music scene. Despite a lukewarm debut with “Batter Up” back in November 2023, the group has been turning heads with their seven-member comeback featuring Ahyeon.
Their album, BABYMONS7ER, and its title track “SHEESH” have been hitting all the right notes, and their live performances are leaving netizens shook with their killer vocals.
The members, who range in age from 15 to 22, recently dished on their trainee days at YG Entertainment.
And guess what? They’ve broken the trend of today’s K-Pop idols having shorter trainee periods.
Four of the members — Asa, Ruka, Rora, and Rami — kicked off their trainee journey in 2018. Asa and Ruka started in April, Rora in July, and Rami in September. This means they each trained for a solid 5-6 years before making their debut.
Here’s a fun fact: Asa started training at age 12, Ruka at 16, Rora at 9, and Rami at 10. Talk about starting young!
Ahyeon joined the trainee ranks in January 2019 at the tender age of 11, clocking in about 5 years of training.
Meanwhile, Pharita started her trainee stint at 15 in October 2020, giving her a 3-year training period.
Chiquita had the shortest trainee period of two and a half years, starting in July 2021 at age 12.
Netizens can’t stop buzzing about the impressively long trainee periods of BABYMONSTER’s members, especially compared to the shorter training periods of other fourth and fifth generation idols.
No wonder they’re already slaying with their performance skills!
