On March 15, Leo took to social media X (formerly Twitter) to share a distressing incident where he fell victim to a scam while attempting to purchase a secondhand item.
In his message to fans, he revealed, "I fell for a scam this morning. I was trying to buy gloves, and the seller claimed they hadn't received the transaction money, asking me to resend it along with the original cost of the gloves. They demanded an additional 1.5 million KRW (~1,127 USD). Sensing something was off, I investigated and realized it was a scam."
Leo went on to elaborate, "I initially sent 800,000 KRW for the gloves and later transferred an additional 400,000 KRW. It's a frustrating lesson learned." He added, "This situation is incredibly annoying and upsetting."
Struggling with his frustration, Leo engaged with concerned fans who offered support. When one fan suggested reporting the incident to the police since his bank information was compromised, Leo sought clarification, asking, "If I report this, will they catch the person? Will they take action against them?" He later updated fans, revealing, "This person has a history of scamming with 9 previous accounts."
Netizens expressed sympathy for Leo's unfortunate experience, with comments such as "That's incredibly unlucky," "Consider blocking your account since your account number was exposed," and "This is unbelievable."
Meanwhile, Leo, who debuted with VIXX in 2012, has been actively involved in various endeavors.
Recently, he signed an exclusive contract with Big Boss Entertainment, signaling his commitment to continue his career as a musical actor.
