On February 28, JinE shared an image with the caption "Karina Karina Karina nanrina (there's an uproar) lol." Some netizens criticized her involvement in the dating news and found her wordplay on Karina's name inappropriate.
In response to the backlash, JinE posted an apology on Instagram on February 29. She wrote, "I'm sorry if it seemed offensive. I meant to say I was disappointed because she's my favorite member."
The controversy arose after Lee Jae Wook confirmed that he is dating Karina, addressing earlier speculations about their relationship.
