It's been 11 years since Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik worked together on a show.
The two main characters in the new drama "Doctor Slump" were recently in a photo shoot for the fashion magazine ELLE Korea.
The new picture does a great job of showing how lively and fun the two stars are together. Along with the photoshoot, they were also asked to answer some thoughtful questions about their experiences with the show.
"Doctor Slump" is a romantic comedy show about Nam Ha Neul (played by Park Shin Hye) and Yeo Jeong Woo (played by Park Hyung Sik), two people who hate each other at first but end up falling in love. Both characters used to be doing really well in their jobs, but problems make them lose steam. In high school, Ha Neul and Jeong Woo were bitter enemies who couldn't stand each other.
They broke up after high school. But fate steps in when they both quit their jobs as doctors and end up sharing a room on the roof without planning to. This starts an interesting and funny turn in their relationship.
After three years, Park Shin Hye is going to be back on stage as Doctor Nam Ha Neul. "There's always a sense of tension when I start work," she said about her thoughts on going back to acting. That's how I think I feel. It's easy for me to read the script for the new show because the story is based on real events. I cared about Ha Neul, the character who has a hard time with her job dealing with people. I think that everyone can get tired and go through a slump. They might look fine from the outside, but the inside might not be what it seems.
Park Hyung Sik also said, "I could relate to the subject of'slump.'" I thought this story would have something to say to everyone who lives a hard life every day. I hope that our show will bring comfort to everyone, just like it did for me.
When asked what had changed since they saw each other on "The Heirs" 11 years ago, Park Shin Hye said, "Park Hyung Sik was very busy back then." There were times when he would go straight from the airport to the shot spot. I thought it was amazing that he remembered the lines even though he was so busy and didn't even look tired. He also has the same nice attitude. So it was easy for me to work with him."
"Back in 2013, I was really busy filming 'Real Men' and musicals," Park Hyung Sik said. That's why I felt rushed when I was playing. Seeing Park Shin Hye noona act taught me a lot, though. She would be able to show how she feels right away. I learned a lot.
The first episode of "Doctor Slump" will air on January 27, 2024. Every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 PM (KST), the show will air on JTBC. In South Korea, you can watch it on TVING. In some other countries, you can also find it on Netflix.
