• Han So Hee and Park Seo Joon's 'Gyeongseong Creature' Leaves Viewers Unimpressed and Sleepy

South Korea is most looking forward to the TV hit "Gyeongseong Creature" coming out at the end of 2023.

The first part of the series has been aired, but it hasn't gotten as much attention on social media and in the news as was hoped.

Even though it's been out for almost 24 hours, "Gyeongseong Creature" hasn't sparked much conversation and seems to be overwhelmed by other TV shows, especially "My Demon."

Some viewers on the MyDramaList platform say that the setting and story were great, and that Han So Hee's performance was even better than they thought it would be.

But these positive comments are overshadowed by viewers who are unhappy with the writing and say that the pilot show was so dull that it made them fall asleep.

Additionally, reviews of "Gyeongseong Creature" said that later episodes are not as bad, but the work's high standards, especially since it stars two A-list stars, have left the audience very disappointed.

iMBC, a South Korean news station, said the drama was "disorganized" and not original, saying that "Gyeongseong Creature" has a lot in common with other period dramas set in 1945, to the point where it felt like "rewatching something again."

iMBC also criticized the choice of EXO's Suho's "Forever" as the series' opening theme song, saying that the song is great on its own but didn't fit the 1945 setting at all, making it hard to get into the show.

Finally, Korean users have harsh opinions about "Gyeongseong Creature." Some topics criticize the choice of OST and the lack of originality in the scripts.

Here are some reactions from netizens around the world and in Korean:

It's not terrible, but it wasn't what I thought it would be.

Being honest, I think Han So Hee acting is fine, but I won't say that Park Seo Joon's work is amazing.

What was going on when "Forever" played?

I didn't think it fit with the historical setting at all, and it made me feel a little down.

Even though I didn't have big hopes from the start, this is still disappointing.

I like how they act, but I think both Han So Hee and Park Seo Joon could do better.

The worst thing about it is the bad writing.

It would be fine if this were a TV show from the early 2010s.

But the author needs to do more these days.

Everything felt like it belonged in a different time. K-drama, it gets old

I watched the first show and then fell asleep.

This is supposed to be a thriller show, right?

On the other hand, "Gyeongseong Creature" is about Jang Tae-sang (Park Seo-joon), who runs a pawnshop and is Gyeongseong's best source.

At the same time, Han So-hee plays Yoon Chae-ok, a person who is very good at finding lost people.

They look deeper into the strange and crazy world of 1945 Korea together.
