g.o.d, a famous first-generation K-pop group, has started a tour in 3 towns in Korea to celebrate their 25th anniversary. The first night of the tour is on December 23.
Instead of having the time of their lives, though, loyal fans of the band have been complaining nonstop, even calling the show "unacceptable" and "the worst."
Fans say they had to wait outside the venue for two hours in below-zero temperatures because the waiting areas inside were booked for other events.
Also, there weren't enough lockers for fans to store their stuff, so many of them had to keep wearing their winter clothes inside, where they got too hot and passed out from suffocation.
Fans who were there said that the standing areas were also too crowded, and the fences had to be moved back twice because people were calling for help. Many people left the show in the middle, they said.
On top of that, there was no elevated area. This meant that fans who bought seats couldn't see the stage because the standing section in front of them blocked their view.
It is known that the most expensive seats were in the upper rows, even though fans there could hardly see anything.
Several posts about this terrible performance experience have been made on Korean forums so far. Fans have expressed their disappointment and compared g.o.d.'s show to Im Young-woong's, which was well-planned to meet fans' needs.
Im Young-woong, in particular, put up huge LCD screens, hired a lot of security guards, and even set up waiting areas for people who weren't in the crowd.
What people have to say about this:
This is awful.
They've been in the business for 25 years, but they still don't care about the viewers.
All the basic needs were not met, from the view to the music to the venue.
Instead of letting K-pop companies step on them, idol fans should fight against wrongdoings like this.
It is wrong to put the standing area in front of the seating area when there is no raised resting area.
Who would do something like this?
g.o.d. has played in these places many times.
They should know everything about this, right?
Clearly, the host is skimping on quality to make more money.
It's not even close to as good as Im Young-woong's show.
Most of Im Young-woong's fans are older, but there were no problems because everything was planned out so well.
Companies can make concerts better if they stop being greedy jerks.
That row of seats is also a VIP area… Usually, seats with a bad view should be made clear and sold for less money…
I now know that fans don't have to go through pain after seeing Im Young-woong's show.
Instead of making things better, the businesses just want to save money.
I hope both artists and fans can speak out.
