Not long ago, Jessica Jung talked about her time as a trainee and part of Girls' Generation.
After celebrating her 16th birthday in August, Jessica came back with her much-anticipated fourth mini-album, "BEEP BEEP."
Jessica joined the show to give fans an inside look as a former K-pop idol in honor of her comeback.
Jessica talked about how the staff at SM Entertainment feels about idols dating. This is interesting because some companies don't let their idols be in a relationship for the first few years after their start.
As a Korean American, Jessica understood the different points of view on whether idols should be limited in their love life.
She talked about her own experience to show that SM Entertainment workers and managers let idols be open about many parts of their lives, such as dating.
She said that she would talk to staff members freely about relationships, and that she found that this made SM more accepting.
On the other hand, Jessica saw that idols hiding connections or causing problems by doing so made it hard for the company to step in and help if problems arose.
When asked if companies put limits on artists' dating to protect their image, Jessica explained that in her experience, the goal was to keep things simple for the star, their group, and the company, not to create a certain image.
When Jessica thought about the bigger question of whether dating bans are good for idols, she was skeptical. She pointed out that these rules are usually put on idols who are too young or too teenage to date.
