YG Entertainment has updated profiles for its affiliated entertainers. Recently, YG Entertainment confirmed the removal of G-Dragon and Taeyang’s profiles from their official website introduction section.
G-Dragon, who debuted as a BIGBANG member in 2006, had his exclusive contract with YG Entertainment expire in June.
Similarly, Taeyang, also a former BIGBANG member, relocated to a new agency by signing an exclusive contract with The Black Label, a label under YG Entertainment, in December of the previous year.
On the other hand, curiosity about the renewal of exclusive contracts with BLACKPINK, a source of significant revenue for YG Entertainment, is still ongoing.
The profiles of all BLACKPINK members, who are currently in the process of renegotiating contracts despite their previous contracts having expired, have been maintained.
Due to BLACKPINK’s significant contribution to YG Entertainment’s revenue, uncertainties regarding their contract renewal have led to a notable decline in YG Entertainment’s stock prices.
Despite various speculations, such as individual members leaving YG Entertainment to establish their own agencies while maintaining the BLACKPINK group, there is no clear confirmation regarding the contract renewal as of now.
Although it was expected that YG Entertainment would address uncertainties related to the BLACKPINK contract renewal in their third-quarter disclosure on the 13th, there was no mention of any specific details regarding the contract renewal.
All BLACKPINK members, except for Lisa, returned after receiving the Order of the British Empire (OBE) from King Charles III on the 22nd (local time). The members have completed their schedule and are back in the country.
