• BTS Fans accuse Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon of copying Jungkook, criticized by K-netizens

ARMY has recently brought attention to the similarities between Taeyeon's comeback teaser and Jungkook's "Seven" MV. A netizen shared a screenshot of the comments made by ARMY on X (formerly Twitter) and stated that the concept of a man and a woman sitting at a round table to eat is a common one.

They accused Taeyeon of plagiarizing Jungkook's idea and harassing her. It should be noted that the screenshot only shows overseas fans, but many Korean fans have expressed similar sentiments.

In response to this accusation, other netizens had different viewpoints. Some dismissed the claims, calling the fans who accused Taeyeon crazy.

They mentioned that Jungkook's overseas fans have been attacking Taeyeon and claiming plagiarism since dawn.

These fans are not fans of BTS, and they even went to her official account to target her. Others defended Taeyeon, arguing that there is a clear victim in this situation and that it is wrong to shield the fandom by saying that it's just a small part of the fanbase or that they are cosplaying fans.

They also pointed out that Taeyeon had used the concept of a round table, couple, and meal in her music video for "11:11" long before Jungkook's solo debut. They questioned why Taeyeon is being criticized when she had already done it years before.

Furthermore, netizens highlighted the irony of this situation. They mentioned that Taemin had previously been accused of plagiarizing V's album, and now Taeyeon has faced a similar accusation. They found it absurd that a scene of a couple sitting down at a table and having a meal is being considered solely as a BTS concept, when it has been used by many artists in the past.

Such concepts and album designs have been common, but some fans are attributing everything to BTS. There were also some comments expressing confusion about the downvotes received. They couldn't understand why people were supporting baseless claims and talking nonsense. Lastly, they mentioned that when overseas fans previously accused Taemin of plagiarizing V, Korean fans did not pay much attention to it, indicating that this type of controversy is not taken seriously by the local fans.
