Lee Dong Wook and Lim Soo Jung recently discussed their dating experiences and shared their thoughts on their new film, "Single in Seoul."
The press conference for the movie took place at Lotte Cinema Konkuk University in Seoul on November 14th.
Joining Lee Dong Wook and Lim Soo Jung were actors Jang Hyun Sung, Kim Ji Young, Lee Mi Do, Lee Sang Yi, Ji Yi Soo, and director Park Bum-soo. "Single in Seoul" revolves around power influencer Young-ho, played by Lee Dong Wook, and editor Hyun-jin, portrayed by Lim Soo Jung. The story unfolds when the two collaborate on a book about single life.
The film explores the development of their relationship, showcasing a love that audiences can relate to. Instead of focusing on their past, the movie delves into the current emotions of the characters.
Director Park explained that this intentional decision was not to reveal the past events, but rather to create curiosity surrounding their present-day feelings.
Memories of the past can become hazy, and the film aims to highlight how the characters have changed without explicitly referencing their history. Lee Dong Wook mentioned that he sympathizes with the idea of fuzzy memories in relationships.
He shared, "I don't remember clearly how we met, how we broke up, what day we broke up, and what kind of conversation we had. We all live with blurry memories in that way. Young-ho also feels the same." He added that he believes everyone has similar memories of past loves.
Lim Soo Jung emphasized that the romance in the movie is portrayed realistically without exaggeration.
She noted that the process of getting to know someone and opening up one's heart is not always a dramatic experience. Instead, it occurs naturally over time.
She appreciated how the two characters gradually open their hearts to each other in the film. "Single in Seoul" is set to premiere on November 29th, offering audiences a relatable and authentic portrayal of love and relationships.
