• Media criticizes former (G)I-DLE member Soojin's label for mishandling her solo debut

The execution of Soojin's solo debut has come under heavy scrutiny in the media.

A recent article from 'Dailian Media' discussed the way her new label, BRD Entertainment, handled her debut, suggesting that a "more genuine way" would have been better considering her past controversy.

It was noted that most of Soojin's in-person activities were suspended shortly after the release of her debut single "AGASSY," which raised questions as no further explanations were given.

Speculation arose that this abrupt halt was a result of continuous criticism from netizens regarding school bullying accusations against Soojin, even though there was not enough evidence to prove her involvement.

The news outlet criticized the label for attempting to debut quietly without addressing the controversy further.

Journalist Ryu Ji Yoon compared the situation to Park Hye Soo's case, where the actress made a comeback in her film 'The Dream Songs' while regularly updating the public about her legal proceedings and asserting her stance transparently.

According to the commentary in 'Dailian': "This debut album appears to be nothing more than a litmus test for public reaction.

[…] A braver and more honest approach to the debut, despite the chance of adverse responses from the public, would likely have been of greater benefit to her in the end.

Unfortunately, given the circumstances, it may be difficult for Soojin to fully escape the 'bully' label if things continue in this manner."

During the broadcast, she revealed that negative online comments had deeply affected her. "I used to cry all the time reading comments. I get hurt easily. What might be a small wound for others feels like a huge blow to me," she shared, expressing the stress she faced from malicious remarks.

She also admitted that at one point, she wanted to leave everything behind. "I kept thinking, ‘How long do I have to keep working this hard?’ and it became overwhelming."

When it came to dating, Kang Ye Won shared that she had always been content watching others fall in love.

"It never worked out for me. I wasn’t the type to ask for introductions either. I just found comfort in living as an observer. Maybe it’s my fate. I’m fearful, and I lack courage. If I feel like someone might hurt me, I block them out from the start," she admitted.
