• SF9's Rowoon doesn't get paid for his role in Ahn Hyo Seop's K-drama "A Time Called You," But Requested One Thing for His Best Friend

We all need people like him as friends.

People who watch the new Korean drama "A Time Called You" on Netflix were surprised when an idol actor showed up in a small part.

A Time Called You just showed all twelve shows for the first time. This dream K-Drama is based on the Taiwanese drama Someday or One Day. It stars Ahn Hyo Seop (Business Proposal), Jeon Yeo Been (Vincenzo), and Kang Hoon (The Red Sleeve).

Rowoon, who was in SF9 and is now in the Korean drama Destined with You, played the role Tae Ha in Episode 8 of the show. People were also surprised by the BL (Boy Love) plot between his character and Ahn Hyo Seop's.

In a recent interview, director Kim Jin Won said why he chose Rowoon for the role. He said that Ahn Hyo Seop had to be happy with the person he chose.

"It took a lot of work to set up the scene. It was important to find the right person for the part. Ahn Hyo Seop had to be comfortable with the person, so they would get along well. — Kim Jin Woon

So, he asked Ahn Hyo Seop himself if he knew anyone in the business. Rowoon was talked about, as you might expect.

I asked Ahn, "Do you have any close friends in the business?" So that's how we began talking about Rowoon. Should I try to get in touch with him, Ahn asked? — Kim Jin Woon

Rowoon and Ahn Hyo Seop have been close friends for a long time, in case you didn't know. They talk about playing a lot when they get together.

"We've known each other since we were kids."Ahn Hyo Seop

So, the director got in touch with Rowoon's team. In the meantime, Ahn talked to Rowoon, who was happy to hear from him.

"I talked to Rowoon's management team. I also asked Ahn to talk to Rowoon about the part so that Rowoon would know what the scene was about. After some talking, Rowoon happily took up the offer." -Kim Jin Woon

Head of Kim Jin Won then said something else that was surprising: Rowoon did not get paid for his part.

He only asked for a meal truck to be sent as payment for his job, but it wasn't even for him. He only wanted it sent to his friend Ahn Hyo Seop with his name on it!

"This is something I really want to get out there: Rowoon didn't get paid for the show. Instead, Rowoon asked Ahn to send a food truck to Rowoon in his name.Kim Jin Woon

Rowoon was serious about his part, even though he wasn't getting paid, so they talked a lot about it.

"We worked with Rowoon on about three shows. He really wanted the scene to be great, especially since he was in it. We talked nonstop about how to shoot the scene with the other two."

Fans of the two now hope that the two stars will be in a full K-Drama together, and the director also seems hopeful about this happening. He noticed that they would feel bad after every intense scene.

"I was wondering if they would ever be in a scene together again. When they were done filming a sad scene, they would both scream around in embarrassment. Or, if they had to hold hands, they would jokingly push each other away as soon as the scene was over." — Kim Jin Woon
