• "Some netizens feel it's a miscast" Ahn Hyo Seop's Appearance on Netflix's Korean Remake 'Into Your Time' Stirs Mixed Reactions

The reception of the Netflix Korean series "Into Your Time," a much-anticipated remake of the Taiwanese drama "Someday or One Day," has sparked a diverse array of opinions from its local audience.

On August 11th, Netflix Korea unveiled the tantalizing teaser trailer for "Into Your Time" through its social networking service channel, igniting excitement among fans.

The teaser featured scenes that bore a striking resemblance to the beloved moments from "Someday or One Day," including cassette tape nostalgia and school uniform-clad characters cruising on motorcycles, evoking a strong sense of sentimental longing.

However, the casting choice of actor Ahn Hyo Seop as the lead character Nam Si Hyun led to disappointment among Taiwanese netizens.

On August 14th, international news outlet '8world' reported that certain netizens voiced their observations after watching "Into Your Time," with some commenting, "The male lead has gained weight." A comparison between the original actor He Huang Han (32) and Ahn Hyo Seop highlighted Ahn Hyo Seop's relatively fuller appearance, making him appear less like a teenage boy.

He Huang Han, the actor who portrayed the original character, stands at a height of 178cm and weighs 69kg. In contrast, Ahn Hyo Seop boasts a taller stature at 188cm with a slender build.

The scrutiny of Ahn Hyo Seop's close-up shots seems to have led to some unintended misconceptions.

Contrary to these observations, the majority of netizens were quick to dismiss the notion that Ahn Hyo Seop had gained weight. Among the comments were sentiments such as "Ahn Hyo Seop gained weight? Really?" "Ahn Hyo Seop's taller, so it's natural for him to have a higher weight," and "Both Ahn Hyo Seop and He Huang Han have such charming smiles. The male lead's casting fits perfectly," reflecting an overwhelmingly positive perspective.

Shifting focus, Ahn Hyo Seop's previous performances have garnered notable acclaim. His portrayal of the male lead Seo Woo-jin in the 2020 SBS drama "Dr. Romantic 2" captivated audiences with his distinct style, earning him an Excellence Award at the prestigious SBS Drama Awards. Subsequently, in 2022, he took on the role of protagonist Kang Tae-moo in the SBS drama "The Office Blind Date," expanding his dedicated fan base and garnering international recognition as a talented actor.

Anticipation now surrounds the impending release of the Netflix drama "Into Your Time," starring Ahn Hyo Seop, scheduled to premiere on September 8th. The spotlight is fixated on whether the series has the potential to surpass the legacy of the original "Someday or One Day."
