• "Girl power all the way!" Netizens were surprised that two K-pop artists dominated the year-end MelOn chart

By the end of the year, they'll likely have it even more.

It's hard to believe that we're almost halfway through the year 2023, but the end of June is coming up and summer is here!

Even though there are still six months left in the year, some songs are doing so well on the MelOn music charts that they have a good chance of being in the top 10 on the end-of-year annual charts, and the acts who dominate the charts are getting a lot of attention.

Because of how much these two musicians make up the list, the current top 10 of the MelOn yearly chart was recently shared on an online forum.

It's probably not a surprise that the two acts in question are the girl groups NewJeans and IVE, who take seven of the ten spots between them.

"Ditto" by NewJeans is the number one song, and "Hype Boy" and "OMG" are the number two and three songs, both by NewJeans. At #8, "Attention" is still in the top ten!

As for IVE, their songs "Kitsch," "I Am," and "After LIKE" are ranked #5, #6, and #9, respectively.

The other three spots are held by "Event Horizon" by Younha at #4, "ANTIFRAGILE" by LE SSERAFIM at #7, and "I Don't Think That I Like Her" by Charlie Puth at #10.

Here's what netizens are saying about how amazing it is that new girl groups have taken over the MelOn annual chart.

Soon, NewJeans will be back, so it will be interesting to see how this picture changes over the next few months.
