• "There should be limitations..." BLACKPINK's Jisoo Opens Up About the Controversy Surrounding Friendship of Male and Female K-pop Idols

BLACKPINK's Jisoo Shares Views on Controversy Over Male and Female Friends

Seoul, South Korea - BLACKPINK's Jisoo has recently voiced her perspective on the ongoing debate surrounding friendships between males and females.

The idol's thoughts were revealed in a video titled "BLACKPINK Jisoo Reveals the Story of Confessing and Dating Twice," which was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Dingdae' as the 13th episode of Season 5.

The highly-anticipated video, released on June 20th, featured Jisoo as a special guest, captivating fans and viewers alike with her candid insights.

During her appearance, Jisoo engaged in a conversation with MC and WINNER member Kim Jin Woo, offering her take on the topic.

Reflecting on their long-lasting friendship, she remarked, "I believe it has been over 10 years since we first met. I used to think that male and female friends cannot exist, but after a decade, it becomes possible."

Elaborating further, Jisoo shared, "Occasionally asking about each other's well-being or maintaining occasional contact without feeling uncomfortable can lead to a close friendship. However, I struggle to comprehend constant communication or frequent phone calls between male and female friends."

Injecting a light-hearted moment into the discussion, Jisoo playfully tackled the perilla leaf controversy.

She humorously stated, "I believe the debate surrounding perilla leaves can be divided. Placing separated perilla leaves on top of rice is not acceptable. You have to hold them together and eat them as a whole, as putting them on top is excessive. Moreover, merely holding them in the air is insufficient; you must apply pressure."

Additionally, Jisoo ignited a debate regarding the boundaries in friendships between men and women, introducing a scale from levels 1 to 10. "I personally dislike talking on the phone for an hour. In an 8th level relationship between a man and a woman, drinking alone together is not permissible. It is acceptable to part ways after one person finishes their drink when enjoying a shared moment," she asserted.

Furthermore, Jisoo stated firmly, "Embarking on a day trip alone is out of the question. Unless the purpose is to go nicely dressed and engage in activities such as fieldwork, it is deemed appropriate."

BLACKPINK's Jisoo's insights have sparked conversations among fans and netizens, shedding light on the complexities surrounding friendships between males and females.

As her words continue to resonate, many eagerly await further perspectives from the esteemed idol.
