“What a waste!” YG Entertainment Clears Rumors Regarding BLACKPINK’s Jennie allegedly offered to star in a Marvel Movie

YG Entertainment Denies Jennie‘s Involvement with Marvel, Addressing Rumors

12th June 2023, Seoul – YG Entertainment has officially put an end to the swirling speculations surrounding BLACKPINK‘s Jennie joining the Marvel universe.

The entertainment agency released a statement through multiple media outlets, categorically stating that there is no truth to the claims of Jennie receiving an offer to appear in Marvel productions.

The rumors began circulating when various media sources, including the foreign press Asia One, reported that Jennie was set to join Marvel’s illustrious roster of superheroes.

According to these reports, Marvel is currently working on a TV series titled “The Agents of Atlas,” which is based on the popular comic book series of the same name. Speculation arose, suggesting that Jennie was in talks for a role in the series.

“The New Agents of Atlas” is an exceptional superhero team, established in 2019, that comprises Asian heroes led by the prominent character Jimmy Woo. It was initially rumored that Jennie would portray the role of Luna Snow (Seol-hee) in the series.

Luna Snow first made her debut in a Marvel video game back in 2020. As a K-pop singer-turned-superhero, her character possesses the ability to manipulate ice, using it to safeguard people across the globe.

With Jennie‘s recent venture into acting through HBO’s “The Idol,” where she collaborated with pop star The Weekend, fans couldn’t help but fuel their excitement and anticipation for potential upcoming projects.

Adding fuel to the fire, reports circulated that several actors who have previously worked in the Marvel Cinematic Universe started following Jennie on Instagram, leading to further speculation about her potential involvement with Marvel.

Separately, it should be noted that on the 11th of June, during the “Born Pink World Tour” held in Melbourne, Australia, Jennie had to abruptly leave the stage due to health issues.

Though unrelated to the Marvel rumors, fans expressed their concern for the well-being of the talented artist.

As YG Entertainment effectively dispels the claims surrounding Jennie‘s affiliation with Marvel, fans will have to wait for official announcements from both the entertainment agency and Marvel Studios to learn about future projects and potential collaborations involving the beloved BLACKPINK member.
