G-Dragon, the leader of the renowned K-pop group BIGBANG, has been noticeably absent from the latest “YG Entertainment Quarterly Report.”
Released on May 15th via the Electronic Disclosure System (DART), the report has captured attention due to G-Dragon‘s status as the group’s leader following T.O.P‘s official departure.
According to YG Entertainment’s “Quarterly Report (March 2023),” which details major contracts and research and development activities, the names of singers and actors contracted with the company as of March 31, 2023, are listed.
Despite being the only remaining member of BIGBANG still affiliated with YG Entertainment, G-Dragon‘s name was notably missing from the report.
This has led to speculation among music fans that G-Dragon may not be renewing his contract and could be parting ways with YG Entertainment.
Reports indicate that YG Entertainment and G-Dragon are currently in the process of coordinating the schedule for contract renewal.
At the beginning of this year, G-Dragon had made an announcement regarding his active promotional plans.
In a video released on YG Entertainment’s official YouTube channel on January 1st, he stated, “I would like to take this opportunity to announce that I will be coming back this year with album preparations and various activities.” This statement generated significant public interest and anticipation.
Meanwhile, BIGBANG recently celebrated their 18th anniversary since their debut on August 19, 2006, marking a significant milestone for the iconic group.
Member T.O.P had previously revealed his departure from BIGBANG through a personal social networking service on the last day of the previous month, leaving G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung as the remaining members of the group.
