• "My tears keep falling" Fans were teary-eyed on what SEVENTEEN Seungkwan did to remember his bestfriend late Moonbin

ASTRO's Moonbin Receives 49th Day Memorial, Boo Seungkwan's Emotional Tribute

Seoul, South Korea - ASTRO member Moonbin was honored on the 49th day since his passing with a memorial ceremony held on June 6th.

SEVENTEEN's Boo Seungkwan, a close friend of Moonbin, paid tribute to him by leaving a heartfelt letter.

On June 5th, Boo Seungkwan visited the newly established memorial space, which was prepared ahead of Moonbin's 49th day memorial.

Fantagio, the agency representing ASTRO, expressed their understanding of Arohas' (ASTRO's fans) desire to honor Moonbin, stating, "In response to the deep sadness felt by Arohas, we carefully consulted with Moonbin's family and created an external memorial space."

The memorial space, named 'Space of the Moon,' was set up at Gukjungsa Temple near Namhansanseong Fortress. Starting from June 7th, fans will be able to visit the memorial space to pay their respects.

Before his visit, Boo Seungkwan penned a touching letter expressing his feelings. He wrote, "I have been striving to take care of Suah, your mother, father, and aunts, but somehow, you take better care of me. Thanks to you, I was able to handle my schedules well."

Sharing his recent experience, Boo Seungkwan mentioned attending Taeyeon's concert, which they had planned to attend together.

He found solace there and thought of Moonbin often, relieved that the song "UR," Moonbin's favorite, was not performed.

Boo Seungkwan poured out his emotions, saying, "I miss you so much. I hoped that with time, our emotions would heal, but it seems that's not the case. Woong feels the same way. He said it's better to live in a slightly worse condition than to live without you. I somewhat agree with him. Please understand me. I'm still quite selfish. I ask for your understanding. This is all I can do. It's a little frightening that the one who illuminated my life is no longer here."

Boo Seungkwan also shared an encounter with Moonbin's fans who visited a café and expressed gratitude towards him, offering words of comfort.

He admitted to holding back tears and acknowledged the warm support he received. Determined to overcome his sorrow, he made a promise to himself, stating that he will continue to move forward.

He concluded the letter, saying, "I love you deeply, my friend♡ I must go now. I apologize for being somewhat whiny during this visit. Let's meet again tomorrow, Bin♡ I miss you dearly."

Moonbin, aged 25, was found deceased in his home on April 19th, leaving his younger brother Billy Moon Soo-ah, ASTRO members, Boo Seungkwan, BIBI's Shinbi, and other close friends in shock and sorrow.

Moonbin's colleagues visited the memorial space set up at Fantagio's headquarters, leaving handwritten letters and finding solace through following his social media accounts, each finding their own way to remember him.

As news spread about the new memorial space, fans were touched to learn that ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo and Yoon Sanha also paid their respects, adding to the atmosphere of heartfelt remembrance.

  • Former Crayon Pop's ChoA Opens Up About Her Struggle with Cervical Cancer: 'I Dream of the Day I Can Have a Drink with My Husband Again'"

ChoA, former member of the girl group Crayon Pop, has bravely shared her ongoing battle with cervical cancer and her emotional journey.

On January 28, ChoA posted a heartfelt update on her social media, explaining her struggles. "I usually laugh, talk, and live my life as usual, but there are moments when I suddenly face a reality that isn’t like before, and it gets tough," she shared.

She went on to say, "Recently, something difficult happened, and in the past, I would have had a drink with my husband to shake it off. I really miss being able to do that."

ChoA admitted that she still can’t fully believe her diagnosis. "When I face the reality I’ve been avoiding, my heart that I’ve built up breaks down," she said. "But the life I’m living now, which I’m still enjoying, is something that someone else might be wishing for. I try to gather my thoughts again with gratitude."

She also expressed hope for the future, saying, "Lately, I dream of a day five years from now when I’ll be declared cancer-free and be able to have a drink with my husband after putting the kids to bed, after all the struggles. It’s been almost two years, so I believe the day I get that clean bill of health will come soon."

ChoA married a businessman in 2021, six years older than her. In October 2023, she revealed her cervical cancer diagnosis, sharing that she had been diagnosed during a routine check-up in her first year of marriage.

Despite everything, ChoA remains hopeful, noting that the cancer was smaller than expected during surgery, and she was able to preserve her fertility—a step closer to her dream of becoming a mother.
