KBS bought embarrassment by airing the kissing scene of actors Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo during a concert held to celebrate KBS's 50th anniversary.
On the 3rd of last month, KBS held a special event, "Your KBS, Our 50th Anniversary," to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the public broadcaster. Many stars, including Choi Soo Jong, Chae Si Ra, Kang Ho Dong, and Gummy, attended the event.
During the event, Gummy sang "You Are My Everything," the OST from KBS2's 2016 drama "Descendants of the Sun." A scene of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo's kissing scene, one of the main scenes of the drama, was introduced on a large screen.
However, netizens had a ridiculous reaction, saying, "Did they have to show the kissing scene of the divorced couple?" "Is this fanning the flames of a burning house?" "KBS should be more careful."
On the other hand, some viewers thought that it was an appropriate footage for the 50th-anniversary special event of KBS, saying, "A drama is just a drama."
Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo co-starred in "Descendants of the Sun" and became a couple, then married in October of the following year. However, they divorced in July 2019 after 1 year and 9 months of marriage.
