On the February 26th episode of MBC‘s “King of Mask Singer,” Kevin, the main vocalist of the boy group The Boyz, showed off his singing skills but was eliminated in the second round, revealing his identity.

During the show, Kevin shared his story of immigrating to Canada with his parents at the age of four and how he got his name.

He said, “My parents named me Kevin after watching the movie ‘Home Alone.’” Despite moving to a new country at a young age, Kevin was able to speak fluent Korean because his parents spoke to him in Korean.

Kevin also revealed that he was accepted into one of Canada’s top three prestigious universities to study psychology but dropped out after only four days to pursue his dream of becoming a singer in Korea.

He said, “I always loved music. After being offered to appear on an audition program, I came to Korea after attending only the university orientation.

After 11 months of training, Kevin debuted as a member of The Boyz. He also confessed that his parents still live in Vancouver, and he has a strong sense of nostalgia for his hometown.
