• BTS' J-Hope Responds to Jin's Hilarious Comment About His Military Enlistment Announcement, Calls Him "Sergeant Tiger"

BTS member J-Hope (real name Jung Ho-seok) recently announced his decision to voluntarily enlist in the military, cancelling his previous request for postponement.

Upon hearing the news, Jin (real name Kim Seok-jin), who is currently serving his military duty, left a comment on J-Hope's post on February 26th saying, "Welcome. If we meet, let's not make eye contact." He then joked, "I am a private and you are a trainee."

Jin also gave J-Hope some advice on military protocol, saying, "The angle of salute should maintain a straight line between the wrist and elbow, and the forearm should be at a 45-degree angle to the ground while the upper arm should be at a 30 to 45-degree angle". J-Hope responded with tears emoji, calling Jin "Sergeant Tiger."

Jin, who is the oldest member of BTS, enlisted in the army in December 2020 and is currently serving as a drill instructor after completing his training.

J-Hope's enlistment will make him the second member of the group to serve in the military following Jin.

As the main dancer and sub-rapper of BTS, J-Hope was born in 1994 and was eligible for postponement until the end of 2024 under the revised Military Service Act, which allows for deferment until the age of 30 with the recommendation of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

However, he recently cancelled his postponement request and expressed his intention to fulfill his military duty.

Big Hit Music, the agency representing BTS, stated that they will inform fans of any updates regarding J-Hope's enlistment and asked for continued support and love for the artist during his military service.

BTS had previously announced that each member will enlist in the military according to their individual schedules, starting with Jin in October 2020.
