Last summer, NewJeans made a big splash when they released their hit song "Attention" without saying who was in the group or what their backgrounds were.
Since not much was known about the group, curious netizens went to work trying to find out more about the mysterious members.
Netizens quickly found two faces they knew in NewJeans. Hanni and Minji, the oldest members of the group, were both in BTS's "Permission to Dance" music video.
The group's names and ages were made public a day after their first song, "Attention," came out. It was shocking to find out that the members were between 14 and 18 years old.
Minji is the leader of the group and also the oldest member. After spending a short time in Canada when she was in elementary school, the 18-year-old drew attention right away with her striking looks, strong stage presence, impressive singing and dancing skills, and fluent English.
Minji's senior year was when NewJeans made their big debut, and she did a great job of balancing the busy schedule of a new idol with the challenges of her last year of high school.
The talented star seems to have been able to do it all, since she just got an achievement award when she graduated from Hanlim Arts School.
As a member of one of the most popular K-Pop groups right now, Minji quickly became the ceremony's main attraction.
Minji shocked netizens with how she looked in real life in unretouched fan-taken photos from the special day.
The talented idol was kind enough to pose for pictures with her classmates, and unaltered pictures taken by fans at her celebrations showed how crazy she looked in real life.
Minji's natural looks haven't changed, so her unretouched photos look like they came straight from a photo shoot.
This shows that her beautiful looks are just as striking and ethereal in real life as they are in edited media.
Congratulations to Minji and the other '04-line idols who graduated with her at Hanlim Arts High School. Some of them are NMIXX's Sullyoon and Bae, ENHYPEN's Jungwon, Weeekly's Jihan, and ATBO's Seunghwan.
