The video of BTS members saying goodbye to Jin before he left for his compulsory military service was released on December 15.
The eldest family member enlisted on December 13 to begin his five weeks of basic training at the newly recruited training center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi province.
On this particular day, the remaining six members accompanied Jin to the training site to cheer him on and say their final goodbyes.
A video of the group’s last performance was uploaded online on December 15; in it, they can be seen caressing Jin‘s head, which has been buzzed short.
Jin‘s good looks were praised despite his shaved head of hair.
Jin dug into his pocket as he was saying goodbye to the group and pulled out the only item he would be bringing with him to his mandatory military service.
To keep his ears toasty, Jin donned a pair of grey ear muffs, saying, “This is a must-have gear for warriors.”
However, Jin is the very first member of BTS to sign up for military service.
Jin‘s mandatory service in the armed forces will be for a total of one year and six months, beginning after he completes basic training.
Assuming all goes according to plan, Jin will finish his military service on June 12, 2024.
