Based on the photo that was released, Red Velvet's design looks like a retro "rabbit". Some fans said that when they saw the design, it reminded them of NewJeans character, which was also in the shape of a "rabbit" and was known to represent the group.

When someone in an online community said that the two designs were similar, K-netizens and K-pop fans joined the conversation and argued about whether or not they were similar.

    K-netizens commented:

"Wow, f*** November 28? I'm really, really excited about it. Seriously, all of their Festival albums were too good, and this Winter album might be even better… Crazy… I can't wait to see what the concept is"

"Ah, seriously, Red Velvet are unbeatable… I'm totally looking forward to it"

"Red Velvet is definitely being copied by NewJeans ㅋㅋ"

"What kind of NewJeans? Are the retro characters owned by NewJeans? This character has been on all of Red Velvet's previous albums, right? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ"

"As soon as I saw this, I thought of Russian Roulette. Those games are always interesting."

    "Is it really this guy?"

"Red Velvet has always seen the world through the eyes of that character who looks like a cat and a wolf. They don't copy other groups, and this isn't just a random addition."

"Why do people keep talking about NewJeans in everything lately? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ You guys are just funny"

    "Reminds me of NewJenas"

    "NewJeans?"

"This person makes me think of Bugs Bunny"

"I thought of NewJeans right away, perhaps because of their album… I'm looking forwardㅎ"

"So it won't be Velvet? Even though it looks like an Red Velvet"

"I want them to stress Red Velvet's view of the world more than Aespa's."
