As she rehearsed in the pouring rain, IU demonstrated outstanding leadership

Singer IU showed brilliant leadership in an unexpected situation.

On October 25th, IU’s official YouTube channel ‘IU Official’ uploaded a long video titled ‘Under the orange sun that was hotter than ever’.

The released video contains the process from the rehearsal of IU’s solo concert ‘The Golden Hour: Under the Orange Sun’ held at the Olympic main stadium in Jamsil Sports Complex in September to the day of the concert.

On September 16, one day before the concert, the IU team had their final rehearsal at the main stadium. At this time, a sudden torrential rain falls.

The atmosphere at the rehearsal site gradually deteriorated due to the sudden occurrence of heavy rain and lightning.

While everyone was embarrassed, IU said, “Let’s use the pool of water in the choreography. Water performance,” she said, warming up the atmosphere with a positive comment. She then reassured the staff, saying, “What could be better is that I tried to ask them to put water on the stage outside of time.”

IU said, “I knew it would rain today,” checking the rest of the rehearsal with a calm attitude. In the midst of heavy rain such as a disaster situation, IU went on stage, danced and sang, prepared for the next day’s performance, and read the scene herself on the hot air balloon.

In the meantime, he encouraged the staff by saying, “Don’t panic, everyone” and “It’ll work out well.”

IU said, “This is the first time that it has rained this much in my life,” but showed her professional ability to cope with situations. “As expected, IU” was leadership that automatically came out.

The next day, IU finished the performance well while enjoying the sunny weather. On this day, IU received cheers from fans and applause from all the staff who were with her.
