The huge prices that actress Gong Hyo Jin and singer Kevin Oh set for the rings and watches they asked for as wedding gifts are surprising.
On October 13, Gong Hyo Jin posted a photo to Instagram of herself getting a hand kiss from her husband Kevin Oh with the caption "JUST MARRIED!"
The photo also caught people's attention because it showed the wedding rings and watches they had chosen as gifts. Especially, it turned out that their wedding gifts were from Piaget, a Swiss luxury watch and jewelry brand for which Gong Hyo Jin works as an Asian ambassador.
Piaget is a luxury watch and jewelry brand that has been around since 1874, when it was founded in Jura, Switzerland.
The "position ring" from Piaget was found to be the gift ring chosen by Gong Hyo Jin and Kevin Oh. The ring has one signature diamond and Piaget's "Palace Deco" technique, which is a special way to work with gold.
Kevin Oh chose a diamond ring made of pink gold, and Gong Hyo Jin chose a diamond ring made of white gold. Both pieces of jewelry have 0.02 carats of diamonds, and the prices on the official website are about $2,000 and $2,300, respectively.
They chose a Piaget "Polo Date" watch, which is the same brand as the rings. Gong Hyo Jin wore one with a blue print made of steel, and Kevin Oh wore one with a green color made of 18K pink gold. Alligator leather is used to make both straps. About 10,500 USD and 27,250 USD are known to be the prices.
Gong Hyo Jin got married in a private ceremony in New York on Oct. 12, about six months after she and Kevin Oh were made public as a couple. After two years of dating, they tied the knot and became a married couple.
At their wedding, only close family members and friends from both sides were invited. Gong Hyo Jin's fellow actresses Um Ji Won and Jeong Ryeo Won were also there.
