• "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" Producer Lee Sang Baek Reportedly Confirms Season 2 Production + Other Details

ENA's popular drama 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo', which is about to end a day before the end, meets viewers again with season 2.

Lee Sang-baek, CEO of Astory, who produced 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo', said in an interview with E-Daily on August 17th, "Thanks to the support of many people, we will produce season 2 of 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo'. The goal is to make season 2 aired at that time.” CEO Lee said, “It is not easy to coordinate the schedules of the cast and production team, so we will have to go through a lot of discussion.” CEO Lee said, “As long as there are no abnormalities, the goal is to leave more than 90% of the members as they are.

CEO Lee will continue to raise viewers' interest in the drama through the production of various additional contents using 'Young-Woo Woo''s IP (intellectual property), such as webtoons, musical productions, and merchandise sales, which are already serialized before season 2 airs. It was also added as a policy.

'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' is a drama depicting the process of a new lawyer, Woo Young-woo (Park Eun-bin), who has a genius brain and an autism spectrum at the same time, joins a large law firm called 'Han-bada' and grows into a lawyer.

In the beginning, it did not receive much attention as it was organized on the unfamiliar channel ENA with the unfamiliar subject of the autism spectrum. However, it gained sympathy and gained word of mouth by raising the topic of various issues that existed in our society but did not receive adequate attention. Based on true stories, such as women, small business owners, sexual minorities, and North Korean defectors, as well as the designation of natural monuments and the abolition of cultural property admission fees, various events that may have occurred in the real world were narrated into episodes and received favorable reviews.

The ratings, which started at 0.9% on June 29 (based on Nielsen Korea nationwide paid households), broke through 4% in the third episode, and exceeded 11% in the 7th episode. In the 9th episode, where actor Gu Gwan-hwa made a special appearance, it broke its own highest ratings record with 15.8%. Considering that the last episode usually has the best ratings, there is a possibility that Woo Young-woo's final episode ratings will exceed 20%.

With the news of season 2 production ahead of its ending on the 18th, attention is focused on whether 'Woo Young-woo' will be able to renew the beauty of Yoo Jong in the last episode.

  • Sunny’s surprise appearance at her uncle Lee Soo Man’s company has fans talking about her future plans

Girls' Generation's Sunny was recently spotted supporting K-pop trainees at A2O Entertainment, the company started by her famous uncle, producer Lee Soo Man. This happened after she officially left SM Entertainment in August 2023.

On April 7, A2O Entertainment shared a video titled “A2O Trainees 'A2O Summer Training Camp 2024' Highlights” on their official YouTube channel. The video showed A2O trainees heading to the United States for a special training camp.

Fans were surprised when Sunny suddenly appeared in the video. She was seen visiting the recording studio and watching the trainees record music. Sitting in front of the console, she smiled warmly as she monitored their work, showing her full support.

After the video was released, some netizens began wondering if Sunny is now working with her uncle behind the scenes. Many believe she might be helping him with music-related projects.

For those who don’t know, Sunny is the youngest daughter of Lee Soo Young, who is Lee Soo Man’s older brother. Lee Soo Young is also well-known in the industry as the CEO of Starworld, a company that debuted the girl group Sugar in the early 2000s. Sugar had popular members like Hwang Jung Eum and Ayumi.

A2O Entertainment is Lee Soo Man’s new project after he sold his shares in SM Entertainment to HYBE in 2023. Because of a non-compete agreement, he can't produce music in Korea for three years, so he’s now focusing on trainees based in the U.S.

Even though Sunny left SM, she hasn’t cut ties with Girls' Generation. Back in January, all eight members reunited and shared a group photo, warming fans' hearts.

Fans are now curious about Sunny’s next steps and whether this could mean a new chapter in her career—maybe as a mentor or producer?
