BTS's Jin comforts fans who couldn’t get tickets to his solo fan concert: “I didn’t know Seokjinie was this popular”
BTS’s Jin is proving he’s truly Worldwide Handsome—and Worldwide Popular—after his first solo fan concert in Korea sold out in a flash. But instead of celebrating alone, he showed love for fans who couldn’t get a ticket by replying to their messages on Weverse.
On April 29, the general sale for Jin’s fan concert series #RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR opened, and it was total chaos.
The online queue hit 84,260 people—with only one person allowed per connection! The shows in Korea will take place on June 28–29 at the Goyang Sports Complex auxiliary stadium, before Jin heads overseas for the rest of his world tour.
Fans who couldn’t get tickets shared screenshots of their impossible waitlist numbers. One post showed how crazy the competition was, and Jin sweetly replied,
“Gasp, I didn’t know Seokjinie was this popular.”
Another fan said they hoped for a bigger venue next time, and Jin honestly shared,
“Actually, this was decided on a sudden whim, so there were no venues left…ㅠㅠ I barely managed to book these. It’s my fault for not planning ahead.”
This warmed fans' hearts, as it's known Jin’s concert wasn’t originally planned—it happened because so many fans wished for it.
One ARMY posted,
“Ha… there’s nothing left… all gray… can’t see any grape dots (available seats)…”
Jin replied,
“This was the biggest one I could get out of the few that were availableㅠㅠ.”
Fans begged for an encore concert, and one said,
“Oppa, please hold it in a bigger place next time for the encore concert!!!! I love you, I miss you already.”
Jin adorably responded,
“What’s an encore concert..?”
After the fan explained it, Jin replied,
“I’ve always heard it as ‘aeng-kon’ so I thought that was the name…”
Fans were quick to say, “If Jin calls it ‘aeng-kon,’ then it’s aeng-kon!”
But when another fan asked if there is an encore concert, Jin sadly answered,
“There isn’t…ㅠㅠ I’m sorryㅠㅠ.”
Still, the love for Jin was clear—his ticket sales topped Interpark’s ranking, and fans continue to beg for more shows.
Meanwhile, Jin is making headlines for his appearance on Netflix’s The Atypical Kwak Family, ranking No. 1 in buzz among non-drama stars. He also wowed fans as a special guest for Coldplay during their Music of the Spheres tour in Korea.
Jin will drop his second mini album Echo on May 16 at 1 PM KST, and kick off his fan concert world tour on June 28, with 18 shows across 9 cities—including Japan, the U.S., the U.K., and the Netherlands. He’ll also make history as the first K-pop solo artist to perform at the O2 Arena in London.
It’s official: Jin is back, bigger than ever—and ARMYs around the world are more than ready.
