• Most People Don’t Know LE SSERAFIM's Kazuha Was A Professional Ballet Dancer Before Becoming A K-Pop Idol

When LE SSERAFIM's Kazuha was announced as the group's newest member, she immediately became popular online. It wasn't long before netizens discovered she was a professional ballet dancer with years of expertise!

But how can a talented dancer end up in K-Pop, which is an entirely different industry? In an interview with Weverse Magazine, the "FEARLESS" singer opened up about it all.

When asked if auditioning for SOURCE MUSIC was a difficult decision, she stated that she had previously had reservations about her future as a ballet dancer.

She admitted that dancing was enjoyable and that she had learnt a lot from it, but she pondered whether it was actually her dream.

"The more I performed ballet, the more I pondered if it was what I wanted to focus my life solely on," Kazuha explained. "Of course, the process of performing ballet was pleasant, and I learned a lot, which was good, but I couldn't help thinking, 'Is this really my dream?'".

Not long after, she realized she wanted to express herself in a different way—through music genres such as K-Pop.

She just had one more barrier to overcome once she made her selection. She was unsure how to audition because she lived in a different nation.

When the epidemic hit, firms began organizing online auditions, which she took advantage of.

"Then I started to feel like I wanted to express myself in different ways through K-pop performances and in other genres," Kazuha explained, "but it's not easy to start something new, and I didn't know how to get into the K-pop world since I was studying abroad, so I felt really frustrated, and at the time, all the K-pop auditions moved online because of COVID-19."

It was as if the stars had aligned because she had a few ballet courses at the time, allowing her to definitively declare that becoming a K-Pop idol was her new desire. She submitted her audition video, and the rest, as they say, is history!

"I didn't have many ballet sessions at school at the time, and spending all that time at home filled me with ideas and fears," Kazuha explained.

"I believed that, while being a ballerina was an appealing choice, what I do now would offer up more options for me to achieve my aspirations," she continued, "and I eventually said, 'Let's just do it!' and sent in my audition video."

She is now forging a new identity for herself. She is no longer "ballet dancer Kazuha," but "LE SSERAFIM's Kazuha," and her growing popularity and promising future in the industry show that she made the right decision!
