Nam Joo Hyuk shook the hearts of women with his role in “Twenty Five Twenty One”.

Actor Nam Joo Hyuk is making a legendary character in tvN’s Saturday-Sunday drama “Twenty Five Twenty One”. Nam Joo Hyuk, who has become the “everyone’s first love” with his warm-hearting visuals, excitement-inspiring eyes, and warm smile, is receiving enthusiastic response from viewers.

Nam Joo Hyuk, who plays Baek Yi Jin in “Twenty Five Twenty One”, is realistically depicting the worries and frustrations of an unstable young man who is collapsed and hurt by the overwhelming reality, starting with responsible efforts to save his family which got into a crisis because of the IMF. 

At the beginning of the drama, Nam Joo Hyuk expressed the various emotions he had as Na Hee Do’s (Kim Tae Ri) friendly neighborhood friend and the loneliness of a 22-year-old youth tired of the harsh reality. In particular, his calm confession in front of the debtor, “I will never be happy, I will never be happy at any moment,” was enough to touch the hearts of viewers. 

If Na Hee Do looks like a lively comic book character, Baek Yi Jin reminds people of a light novel character. Nam Joo Hyuk convincingly depicts Baek Yi Jin‘s light emotions, enriching the character’s narrative. 

Nam Joo Hyuk, who overcame the difficult situation and passed the reporter exam to become a reporter, doubled his romantic charm with a more mature side. The sweet words spoken casually by him are stealing fangirls’ hearts despite no obvious touch or dramatic situations. 

In particular, at the ending of the 8th episode, he said, “It’s love. I’m in love with you, Na Hee Do. I don’t need a rainbow”, making viewers’ hearts flutter.

Nam Joo Hyuk became the icon of first love through “Twenty Five Twenty One”. Actor Lee Yi Kyung surprised everyone with a mention of his ex-girlfriend Jeong In Sun during his acceptance speech at the 2024 SEOULCON APAN STAR AWARDS.

On December 28, the prestigious awards ceremony was held at the Art Hall 1 of the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul.

Lee Yi Kyung, who gained attention for his role as a villain in Marry My Husband, took home the Outstanding Male Actor award for his outstanding performance in a mid-length drama.

When he stepped onto the stage to accept his award, Lee Yi Kyung began his speech with gratitude: "First of all, I am so thankful to the cast and crew of Marry My Husband. But the biggest thanks go to the judges who chose me out of so many outstanding candidates. I sincerely thank you."

The actor continued, "The way actors can meet other actors is through projects. There are people I’ve wanted to meet, but I couldn’t because we didn’t work together. So, I’m grateful to greet those I’ve wanted to meet. I had the chance to greet Kim Tae-ri, and she knew who I was. Thank you for that. I also want to thank the judges who brought us together."

But it was his casual mention of Jeong In Sun that grabbed attention. He said, "And I never thought I’d get to meet her, but as some of you may know, I want to sincerely thank the judges who brought me together with Jeong In Sun. Congratulations to her on winning an award as well."

Lee Yi Kyung and Jeong In Sun, who both starred in the 2018 JTBC drama Welcome to Waikiki, had previously revealed that they were dating before their breakup about a month and a half after going public with their relationship.

Lee Yi Kyung wrapped up his speech by sharing how much this award meant to him. "This award is meaningful to me because many people associate me with variety shows, but receiving an acting award for playing a villain is something special. I’m so grateful.
